Learn to handle conflict and improve your relationships

The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) is for anyone who wants to manage anger better, handle conflict more skilfully, and build more positive relationships.

We are a registered national charity, and run friendly, low-cost workshops (courses) which really make a difference to people’s lives. Whether you face conflict at home, in work, or on the streets, every day or once in a while, or simply want to learn how to manage your behaviour better, AVP can help.

Our London workshops take place in Shoreditch, five minutes’ walk from Old Street tube station.

MORE ABOUT AVP

It’s anger management… and more

AVP workshop participants

Our workshops help you learn how to handle strong feelings like anger, and to recognise the warning signs, so that you can prevent trouble from starting. But with AVP you'll also explore who you are as a person, what really matters to you, how to appreciate other people, and how to build better relationships. It's more than 'anger management' alone.

Before, I would panic if I was somewhere busy, thinking if someone banged into me, even just accidentally, I would want to punish them. Now I am calmer, kinder and a much better person. I am nothing special and anyone can change to better themselves. I would urge anyone to do a course with AVP, as I did.
